Mrs. Brightside

I didn’t choose the thug life. The thug life chose me 🙂

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

I truly believe we live in different seasons.  Sometimes, life is like springtime, full of excitement and promise, a time of rebirth and new beginnings.   When life is like Summer, everything is at peace, comfortable and easy.  Fall is a time of wisdom, fulfillment, and abundance.  And then there’s winter.  Winter is a time of suffering, a time of darkness.  Winter is bleak and it sometimes seems as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Since July 23, I’ve been living in winter.  I thought this was going to the be the year of CrossFit competitions and amazing PR’s.  Instead, my car wreck put my life on hold.  I allowed myself to become consumed with depression, frustration, and anxiety due to my physical pain.  Now, I’ve decided it’s time to stop feeling sorry for myself.

My future and success depends on many things, but mostly they depend on me.  I have the responsibility to shape my life.  I am the person that pushes myself forward or holds myself back.  The power to succeed or fail is mine alone.

I’ve decided it’s time to go back to being Mrs. Brightside.  I know God will be glorified through my trials so I’m going to thank Him.  I’m optimistic about my recovery and excited because I know Spring is just around the corner!

What season are you in?
