It’s been such an awesome week that I’m a little sad to see it end. Today marks the end of our summer with the kids. It’s been so fun having them for the last month. I know it will take a little time to adjust to the quiet. I’m really going to miss having them around.
Physically, I’m completely wiped out. I had some seriously challenging workouts this week:
Monday – “Grace”
30 reps for time of:
Clean & Jerk 135/95
I performed “Grace” in 13:56 and was completely pumped because I thought I did it as perscribed. When I looked at the bar, though, I realized my math skills were seriously lacking that day and the bar only weight 85 lbs. I was bummed out for all of 5 minutes when I realized I never did 30 consecutive 85 lbs clean & jerks before so my excitement resumed.
Tuesday:
Strength – DE Good Mornings (wide stance)
Metcon:
3:00 AMRAP KB swings 50/35
3:00 active rest
3:00 Box Jumps 20″
3:00 Active rest
3:00 KB push press 50/35
3:00 active rest
3:00 Row for calories
This workout kicked my butt! It didn’t help that earlier that day, at the movies, I totally cheated and ate some buttery popcorn and twizzlers! I did the dynmaic effort good mornings at 85 lbs. I did 69 KB swings, 58 box jumps, 58 KB push press, and rowed 36 calories. I performed the entire workout as perscribed. I also broke in the puke bucket. My days of buttery popcorn and twizzlers are definitely behind me!
Wednesday:
15-12-9 for time of:
Front Squats 155/105
Lateral Burpees
GHD Sit-ups
My time was 10:23 with 85 lbs front squats. As I type, I’m starting to realize that 85 is my lucky number this week. I can’t wait till that number goes up!
Thursday:
I took Thursday off and gave my body some much needed rest. Instead, I decided I deserved a little pampering. I went to Salon Matos and got a much needed trim and some awesome color. I realized, when I was sitting in the chair, that I hadn’t had my hair done since Mother’s Day. Why is it that women always put themselves at the bottom of the totem pole?
Friday:
Strength – DE Bench Press
“Cindy” – AMRAP in 20 min of:
5 pull ups
10 push ups
15 squats
This was, by far, one of my strongest days ever. I managed to perform 11 rounds + 5 pull-ups and 2 push-ups. It was my first time ever to do “Cindy” as perscribed. I still can’t believe I did 60 real pull-ups (especially when just 2 months ago I couldn’t do one) and 112 real pushups! I felt like such a hoss when that workout was over. LOL!
Saturday:
“Fight Gone Bad”
Wall ball 20/14
Push press 70/55
Box Jump 20″
SDHP 70/55
Row for calories
This workout is intense! You rotate from station to station every minute for 5 minutes after which you get a 1 minute rest. You do three rounds of this. Your score is the cumulative number of reps (each calorie on the rower counts as a rep). My score was 233. The average score is between 238 and 315. My goal is to eventually get in the 300’s.
Sunday:
Today I will rest. My body is fried. I think we may take the kids swimming and enjoy our last day of our summer with them. I know whatever we do, we’ll have fun and spend quality time together as a family. It’s been an awesome week!
