Destin – Part 2

I have to rave about Camp Gulf.  It’s located right on Miramar Beach about 10 min from Destin.  They have two swimming pools, incredibly clean, private and family friendly showers, and as a guest of the resort you get a free membership to Gold’s Gym.  That free Gold’s pass was the biggest bonus!

This gorgeous beach was a mere 100 ft walk from our RV

We got to spend such amazing quality time together as a family on this trip.  My husband surprised us all with tickets to the Buccaneer Pirate Cruise.  While we waited for the cruise, the girls got to zipline and take out some sisterly aggression in the zorb balls.  Those balls were hilarious; they looked like two hamsters.  I couldn’t stop laughing!

My handsome little pirate

One night Sweet Pea & Papa Smiley, aka Chad’s stepmom and dad, watched Jagger so that we could take the girls for a night on the town.  We ate dinner at the highest rated restaurant in Destin (according to Google), Louisiana Lagniappe, and it was sensational.  This meal was the first night on the trip that I went over on my macros, but it was totally worth it:  buttery scallops, blackened red fish, twice baked potato, key lime pie, and a margarita.  Mmmmmmm….

After dinner, we took the girls to the Track, an activity filled wonderland with the coolest multi story go-kart track I’ve ever seen.  We all rode the sky coaster too.  My favorite was hearing Rylie yell, “Daddy!!!!” at the top of her lungs.  My sides were sore the next day from laughing so hard.

(Yes, I totally sound like a cackling witch!)

Overall, it was one of my favorite trips yet.  It was also one of those vacations from which you need a vacation!

How about you, what was your favorite family vacation?
